MWG COACHES

Alison Harack

Alison Harack brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role as Team Figure Skating Coach for the Manitoba Winter Games. A former competitive skater for Team Manitoba while earning her B.A., Alison went on to perform professionally for over a decade, touring the world with Disney On Ice, Holiday on Ice, and Willy Bietak Productions.

Alison owns and operates a hot yoga studio and continues to make a strong impact in the skating community. Last season, two of her skaters placed first and third in the Pre-Novice Ladies event.

Agnes Szabo

I have been involved in Figure Skating for 40+years as a skater, coach and parent. I enjoy coaching because I get to go to the rink each day and help skaters achieve their goals, whether they are learning to take those first strides across the ice, landing their first jump, or passing their first test. I have coached CanSkate, CanPowerSkate, StarSkate, Adult Skate and Competitive Skate. I have attended many Seminars and Competitions. I am always eager to learn how to become a better Coach and I love to see the skater’s progress in skating!

Brooklyn Parker

Brooklyn is the Head Coach at The RINK Figure Skating Academy, a role she has held for the past four years. She oversees the development of figure skaters both on and off the ice, and also works with CanSkate and
power skating athletes.

She is a Skate Canada Provincial Certified and National In-Training Coach, with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Manitoba. She is also an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

As an athlete, Brooklyn was a member of Manitoba’s High-Performance Team for seven years, earning numerous provincial medals. She competed at the Skate Canada Challenge five times and at the 2010 Manitoba Winter Games and 2011 Canada Winter Games. In 2023, she returned to the Canada Winter Games as a team
coach.

Brooklyn is passionate about helping skaters build a solid foundation, reach their goals, and enjoy
every step of the journey.

Lesley Wray

Hello, my name is Lesley Wray. I have been a certified coach working in Russell, Manitoba, since 2018. I grew up skating in the Norman Region of Manitoba and have been involved in coaching at various levels since the 1990s. I took a break from ice skating during university, during which time I got married, began my career as a teacher, and started my family. I returned to the ice in my late 20s, joining two synchronized skating teams, and re-learning the new system. I am proud to have recently achieved certification as a Level 2 Provincial Trained Coach.

My coaching experience includes working in Yorkton, Roblin, and Russell. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to mentor in Calgary alongside prominent athletes such as Kaetlyn Osmond and Michael Marinaro. I have also participated in Mariposa’s summer schools, where I received mentorship from Janice Morgan, Doug Leigh, and their team.

In recent years, I have been mentoring at the Skate Canada Challenge, gaining valuable experience and knowledge. I am passionate about my sport, which is an important part of my life.

Pam Parker

With over 31 years of coaching experience, Pam is proud to be part of the coaching team at the Morden Figure Skating Club as well as the RINK Figure Skating Academy. She currently coach across all levels, including
CanSkate, STARSkate, Competitive, and Synchronized Skating. She holds a National Trained status and is actively
working toward becoming National Certified. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of coaching at the Manitoba Winter Games five times, as well as at national-level events including Junior Nationals, Skate Canada Challenge, and the National Synchronized Skating Championships. Pam is currently the chair of the Skate Manitoba Train to Train Committee. Her coaching philosophy centers on fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. She believes in developing the whole athlete—nurturing their growth as individuals as well as celebrating their performance achievements.
