2025 SPRING TRAINING SEMINAR

$40 for Coaches
*coaches that have put their name forward for the Manitoba Games Coach Intent can attend for free

Second seminar day on April 13 for only $75…must register for April 12 to be eligible.

April 13th Team MANITOBA and for Skaters who have declared their intent for the 2026 Manitoba Winter Games will receive additional benefits.

Dear Skaters,

We are excited to welcome you to the Skate Manitoba Spring Training Seminar on April 12 & 13, 2025.  Get ready for a fun and productive day as we dive into improving your figure skating skills. Below you’ll find all the important details to ensure you’re fully prepared.

Morden Access Event Center

Seminar Date & Time:
Date: Saturday, April 12th
Time: 8:00 am to 4:15pm

Date: Sunday, April 13th – for those that registered for the second day

Seminar Time:  10:15 am to 1:45 pm

Special Schedule for MWG, CWG and Team Manitoba athletes:

If you have declared your intent to compete in the 2026 Manitoba Winter Games or are a current member of Team Manitoba or a Pre-Novice/Novice skater eligible to compete at the 2027 Canada Games, please review your scheduled lesson and practice times for Sunday, April 13th.  Your exact times will be emailed to you directly.    

  • Team Manitoba Athletes:
    • Lessons & Team practice session: 8:00 am – 10:00 am
    • Fitness testing: 2:00 pm 
  • Canada Winter Games eligible skaters and skaters who have submitted their letter of intent for Manitoba Winter Games:
    • Small group lessons & Team practice session: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

       

Seminar Schedule:
The day will include a variety of exciting and informative sessions led by our expert clinicians:

  • On-Ice Training: Jennifer Jackson, will be leading the on-ice session, assisted by demonstrator Quinn Startek, where you’ll focus on jump and spin technique
  • Off-Ice Training: Deidre Russel, Brooklyn Parker, Kailey Thiessen, and Yebin Mok will be our off-ice clinicians and classes will focus on spinner and skipping exercises, strength, flexibility, ballet, and an off-ice edge class

What to Bring:

  • A packed lunch (there will be a break for lunch)
  • A water bottle
  • A skipping rope
  • a long band
  • Yoga mat
  • Resistance band (if you have one)
  • Your spinner (if you do not have one, please bring a microfiber cloth or towel as an alternative)
  • Runners or appropriate footwear for off-ice training
  • A notebook and pen for taking notes during the seminar

Important Notes:

  • Dress in comfortable athletic clothing suitable for both on-ice and off-ice activities.
  • Be sure to bring all the required items listed above to ensure you can fully participate in each class.
