To support Manitoba clubs with good governance practices and support,
we engaged with Sport Law to develop two by law templates for clubs. 
These by law templates replace the constitution & bylaws that most
 clubs had and provides everything in just one document. Also below are several 
policy templates that will assist clubs in their governance.

To help support good governance and prepare our members for dispute & complaint management, Skate Manitoba will be requiring every club and skating school in our section to adopt the following policies by October 31, 2025;

1. Discipline & Complaints Policy
2. Dispute Resolution Policy
3. Appeals Policy
4. Code of Conduct & Ethics Policy

These four (4) policies must be approved by the club board of directors, or school administrators and submitted back to Skate Manitoba to [email protected] with the date of adoption in order to maintain In Good Standing with Club & Skating School Operating Requirements.

Skate Manitoba has easy to complete templates ready to use. The Province of Manitoba recently passed The Protecting Youth in Sport Act.  Sport Manitoba is currently creating the policies required by law for all Provincial Sport Organizations (PSO) and securing an Independent Third Party (ITP) reporting mechanism for maltreatment complaints.  Education and training will be coming soon for athletes, parents and coaches.  Please note that should you receive a complaint of maltreatment to your club or school and need assistance please contact [email protected].
